Extra Shields - Shield Expansion in the Spirit of Vanilla Minecraft

The Extra Shields mod represents a harmonious addition to the shield system in Minecraft that organically fits into the game's vanilla progression. It adds various new shields corresponding to the existing armor system, as well as introduces a shield plating enhancement system and new enchantments.

New Shields and Plating System

Now for every material from the vanilla game, there's a corresponding shield variant! You can additionally reinforce these shields with special plates, which increases their durability but also extends the recovery time after an axe attack.

Shield Repair Kit

The repair kit allows you to quickly restore your shield right during combat. However, be cautious: each time you use the kit, the shield's maximum durability will be permanently reduced.

Enchantment System

The mod adds several new unique enchantments:

• Bracing: Reduces shield recovery time after being disabled by an axe attack
• Momentum: Gives the player a temporary speed boost when the shield is disabled
• Evokering: Found in woodland mansions, has a chance to create evoker fangs under attackers when blocking
• Launching: Rare loot from ominous vaults, has a chance to launch attackers away when the shield is disabled
• Lifebound: Found in Nether fortress chests, allows absorbing health from the attacker when blocking

All enchantments have been thoroughly tested and balanced, some of them are incompatible with each other.
