Silent Gear - Tools and Gear System
Minecraft Forge and Silent Lib are required for the mod to work. Other mods and data packs are optional.
What is it?
Silent Gear offers a comprehensive system for creating and upgrading tools, weapons, and armor. You can craft equipment not only from standard Minecraft materials but also from numerous new resources, including unique metals and alloys.
Main Features
Tools and Weapons
The mod adds various tools: pickaxes, shovels, axes, combination tools (paxels), hoes, mattocks, sickles, prospector hammers for ore detection, area-effect hammers, excavators, and saws for cutting down entire trees.
The weapon arsenal includes swords, tridents, machetes, katanas, daggers, knives, bows, crossbows, and slingshots.
Armor and Accessories
A complete set of armor, including elytra, as well as various accessories like rings and bracelets through the Curios system.
Materials
Use both standard materials (wood, stone, iron, gold, diamonds, netherite) and unique ones: crimson steel, azure electrum, and tyrian steel. Metals from other mods are supported.
Crafting Equipment
Most recipes are shapeless and can be created in any crafting grid. Blueprints or templates are required to craft any item. Blueprints are reusable, while templates are consumed after one use.
Each tool or weapon requires a main part (head, blade) and a rod. For bows and fishing rods, a cord material is additionally needed.

Armor
Armor is crafted from plates with the option to add lining to improve characteristics.

Elytra
Elytra require wings (main part) and bindings. Wings can only be crafted from materials in the "cloth" and "sheet metal" categories.

Material Enhancement
Grading in Material Grader
Materials can be upgraded in a special block - the material grader. The system uses catalysts and assigns material grades from E to MAX. The result quality depends on the catalyst tier.

Alloy Creation
Special blocks (metal alloyer, recrystallizer, refabricator) allow combining up to four materials into complex alloys. These are mid to late-game technologies.
Equipment Repair
Repair kits allow quick item repairs in any crafting grid. The repair material must be of the same or higher tier as the item's primary material.

Alternatively, you can use an anvil - it's more efficient but requires experience points.
Modifications
Various upgrades can be added to equipment: tip upgrades for tools, coatings (only in smithing table), bindings and grips. Only one upgrade of each type can be applied to an item.
World Generation
The mod adds several new resources to the world while minimally interfering with vanilla gameplay.
- Wild Flax - found in mountain biomes and plains
- Fluffy Plants - grow in forested areas
- Bort - rare ore deep underground, needed for adornments
- Crimson Iron - Nether ore, used to create crimson steel
- Azure Silver - End ore, base for azure electrum
- Netherwood - fireproof wood from the Nether
