Simple Sponge
About the Modification
Simple Sponge was initially created as an adaptation of sponges from OpenBlocks for Minecraft versions 1.10 and above, when an official port didn't exist yet. Over time, the mod has significantly expanded and now offers much more than just basic sponges - you'll find numerous varieties!
The mod is fully compatible with OpenBlocks, so you can use them together without any conflicts and gain access to all additional blocks and items from Simple Sponge. Supported game versions range from 1.10 to 1.13, as well as 1.16, 1.18-1.20.
Simple Sponge works exclusively on Forge. Support for other mod loaders like Fabric is not planned, as Forge remains the primary platform for modding, and maintaining multiple versions requires significant time investment.
Starting from versions 3.6.3+ (1.12), 5.0+ (1.16), 6.0+ (1.18), 7.0+ (1.19) and 8.0+ (1.20), the mod requires installation of the GunpowderLib library.
Main Features
- Three types of sponges: regular, magmatic, and creative
- Seven variants of sponges on a stick: regular, magmatic, creative, compressed regular, compressed magmatic, compressed creative, and energized
- Regular sponge breaks upon contact with hot fluids
- Magmatic, creative, and energized sponges (including stick variants) are resistant to hot fluids
- Configurable radius for all sponges (up to 64 blocks)
- Configurable energy and energy consumption per use for energized sponge on a stick
- OpenBlocks integration: standard sponges and sponges on a stick are disabled, while magmatic and compressed sponges on a stick use resources from OpenBlocks (integration enabled by default to prevent recipe conflicts)
