Simple Hearts
Additional Health for Survival
The Simple Hearts modification adds an additional health system to Minecraft that organically integrates into the survival gameplay. Three types of hearts are available, each with its own characteristics and acquisition methods.
Types of Hearts
Heart Fragment - a temporary enhancement that adds one additional heart to your health but disappears after character death.
Heart Container - a permanent improvement that gives an additional heart forever. However, there is a limit on the number of simultaneously equipped containers - by default, you can have up to 10 such containers.
Eternal Heart - the most powerful type of heart that cannot be crafted. These rare artifacts can only be found in underground bunkers hidden in caves. Each eternal heart adds a full 5 hearts to maximum health, while you can equip up to two such hearts simultaneously.
Crafting and Acquisition
Heart fragments and heart containers can be created through crafting. Heart fragments are crafted using rotten hearts, which mainly drop from zombies (and zombified piglins in versions 1.16.5-1.18.2). From rotten hearts, you can also make rotten soup, which when consumed removes one heart container.
Rotten Hearts
Rotten hearts are unusable hearts that can be obtained mainly by killing zombies or crafting from 4 rotten heart fragments (which also drop from zombies). They can also be found in underground bunker chests.
Commands and Settings (1.20.1)
The /clearsimplehearts command is available, which removes all additional health. The configuration file is located at /config/simplehearts.json and allows you to change various aspects of the modification, with all changes applied without reloading the world.
In the configuration, you can set:
- Limits on the number of hearts of each type
- Generation of underground bunkers with eternal hearts
- Initial health amount when creating a new world
