Cats in Minecraft have long been neglected. This mod fundamentally changes the situation, filling these fluffy creatures with completely new life and character.

Beginning the Adventure

All images demonstrate the Simply Cats version for Minecraft 1.16.5 and above

First, you'll need to create pet carriers. These containers don't break but don't stack and can only hold one animal. Since cats don't follow you on their own, carriers become essential helpers when transporting pets from villages.

Searching for New Friends

Set out to find adorable creatures ready for adoption! In almost every village, you'll discover a new structure - the Animal Shelter.

In this building, you'll meet a new type of villager, easily recognizable by their yellow smock with a golden paw print on the chest.

Special Trading Opportunities

This villager offers unique goods in exchange for raw fish or bones. For version 1.16.5: To access cat or dog trading, you first need to unlock the second trade level with the shelter worker. You'll have access to two random deals from four possible options: sterilization potions, cat carrier, or dog carrier.

Cats obtained through trading are not sterilized and can breed given the opportunity. Remember that the carriers in which pets arrive are temporary and disappear after releasing the animal.

Adoption from the Shelter

Inside the shelter live several animals - from 1 to 3 dogs and 1 to 3 cats, all of which can be adopted using a special certificate. Created from paper and an ink sac, this document allows you to officially adopt your chosen animal. All shelter pets are sterilized and cannot breed.
