Sky Spheres
This Minecraft modification creates unique floating spheres that appear high in the sky of the overworld. These formations are generated from materials specific to the biome where they appear, providing players with a completely new way to explore and gather resources.
Features and Capabilities
Sky spheres vary in size and composition depending on the biome. Some of them may contain strategic ore deposits inside, making them attractive targets for aerial expeditions.
Multiple parameters can be finely tuned through the configuration file:
- Minimum height (
minHeight) - lower limit for sphere generation (default: 180) - Maximum height (
maxHeight) - upper generation limit (default: 230) - Density (
density) - probability of sphere generation per chunk, from 0.0 to 1.0 (default: 0.03) - Maximum size (
maxSphereSize) - largest possible sphere radius (default: 28) - Minimum size (
minSphereSize) - smallest sphere radius (default: 4) - Ore spawn chance (
oreChance) - chance of finding resources inside the sphere, from 0.0 to 1.0 (default: 0.005)
Compatibility
The mod works exclusively with Minecraft version 1.12.2 and requires Minecraft Forge pre-installed. Works well with most other modifications as long as they don't drastically alter overworld generation.
Known Features
Valuable resource generation inside spheres is not tied to specific biomes - ores are randomly distributed, so you might discover unexpected minerals in aerial formations of various zones.
The structure generation algorithm can sometimes result in spheres being completely made of grass blocks.
