Skyfall: Meteorites
Celestial Visitors and Cosmic Threats
This mod introduces a dynamic system of meteorites and other objects falling from the sky into the Minecraft world. Currently available are meteorites of three different sizes, as well as three types of events, one of which occurs naturally. To manage all this diversity, a special /skyfall command is provided, allowing you to summon any meteorites and events at will.
Key Features and Mechanics
Meteorites can consist of various materials, each with unique properties. The basic meteorite is made of Sky Rock and may contain a Block of Stardust at its center if its size is large enough.
Sky Rock is a special type of stone composed of many different materials. When mined, it behaves similarly to gilded blackstone, randomly dropping itself or transforming into another material.
Stardust - The Foundation of Everything
Stardust is the main resource of the mod. It is used in numerous recipes and to power blocks such as the Skyfall Protector and the Mysterious Crate. This valuable resource can be found inside meteorites or in the mod's special structures, and it also has a chance to drop when a meteorite is destroyed by a Protector.
Protection Systems
The Skyfall Protector can be charged with Stardust. When charged, it will automatically target and destroy approaching meteorites.
Mysterious Crates, found in the center of blackstone meteorites, open when filled with Stardust, revealing their contents.
Unique Items and Capabilities
From the loot of Mysterious Crates, you can obtain Skyforged Tools. In terms of characteristics, they resemble golden tools: high efficiency and enchantability but low durability. However, all their stats surpass golden counterparts.
Starting from version 2.0.0, the loot of Mysterious Crates may also include Astral Attraction Runes. Using them causes one large meteorite to fall directly at the rune's activation point.
The Astral Repulsion Beacon (version 2.0.0 and newer) offers an alternative way to protect against meteorites. Its range can be extended by placing Stardust Blocks beneath it. When powered with redstone, the protection zone is visualized. Unlike the Protector, this beacon completely prevents meteorites from falling within its area but also deprives you of the benefits associated with them.
Hidden Dangers
Be cautious with strange bluish-glowing blocks - inside this slimy substance may lurk a rather unpleasant (and slightly parasitic) surprise.
Important Warning: The mod may cause significant performance drops on servers and low-end computers.
