SAS - The Slabs And Stairs Mod
Welcome to the world of SAS - a modification that dramatically expands building possibilities in Minecraft! This project adds a huge number of new slabs, stairs, and quarter blocks created from standard materials from the base game.
What makes this mod truly unique? All added blocks can be placed in absolutely any direction! This means that slabs and stairs can now be installed vertically, opening completely new horizons for architectural creativity.
Another impressive feature is the free combination of blocks within a single space. You can combine a stone slab with a birch plank, creating unique textures. Or combine a spruce wood stair with a gold quarter block. The possibilities are almost limitless - from two different quarter blocks you can assemble a slab, from three - a stair, and from four - a full block!
The block placement system is significantly improved. Before installation, a visual hint appears showing how the block will look. A special key activates the precise placement mode, and another key allows cycling through all available block orientations.
Crafting has also become much more convenient. All mod blocks can be created in the 2×2 grid directly in the inventory or using a stonecutter. Disassembled blocks can be reassembled: two quarters of the same type create a slab, three - a stair, and a combination of a slab and a quarter gives a stair. In the game world, combining identical blocks automatically creates their variations up to the original full block.
Crafting recipes are balanced in terms of material consumption. Now from 6 full blocks you will get 8 stairs instead of 4, which eliminates resource losses. However, be careful when using a stonecutter - material losses are possible there!
The mod is in active development for Minecraft 1.18.2 with Forge support. Update to version 1.19.x is planned after completion of work on the current version.
Preliminary versions (alpha and beta) may be unstable. Alpha versions are designated by the letter 'a' in the version number, beta versions by 'b', and release versions by 'r'.
The mod is compatible with other modifications but currently has no integration with them.
