Smart Absorption
📖 Introduction
In the standard version of Minecraft, there is a feature in how damage absorption (known as golden hearts) works. When a player simultaneously receives this effect from different sources - for example, from potions and other modifications - the system sums up all golden hearts together. This leads to an unexpected problem:
If you have an active Absorption effect, and then you receive additional golden hearts through other methods, the original effect continues to work until all golden hearts are depleted. During this time, you will not be able to obtain new Absorption effects.
Although this might go unnoticed in the vanilla game, in RPG modpacks with modifications where every golden heart matters, such mechanics become a serious drawback.
This modification elegantly solves this problem by separating golden hearts by their source of origin!
