Smart Mobs - Smart and Dangerous Mobs

Tired of predictable and easily defeated opponents? Smart Mobs is a comprehensive Forge mod that completely reworks the standard behavior of mobs, giving them new, dangerous, and unexpected abilities. This modification is designed to make survival more challenging and engaging by making your enemies smarter, not just stronger.

Every feature is fully customizable through a detailed configuration file, allowing you to create the perfect difficulty level for your playstyle or modpack.

Core Features

  • Customizable AI: Fine-tuning of mob detection radius, evasion chance, and other parameters
  • Chaos mode: Enable free-for-all mode where mobs attack each other!
  • Target division: Mobs can distribute attention between multiple targets
  • No more safe nights: Beds still set respawn points but can no longer be used to skip the night
  • Enhanced village raids: Mobs use all their new abilities when attacking villagers

Creeper Enhancements

Prepare for a new level of explosive terror. Hiding behind a simple wall is no longer an option.

  • Wall breaching: Creepers will explode through walls and terrain to create a path to their target
  • Charged spawning: Creepers have a configurable chance to spawn already supercharged!
  • Napalm explosions: Explosions create fire, igniting the area and nearby entities
  • Mob riding: For maximum surprise attacks, creepers can spawn riding other mobs

Skeleton Improvements

No more clumsy archers! Skeletons have been upgraded to become deadly marksmen.

  • Sniper accuracy: Skeletons have significantly improved accuracy and deal increased damage, presenting a serious long-range threat

Enderman Abilities

Fighting an Enderman has become a disorienting and terrifying experience.

  • Player teleportation: Endermen have a chance to teleport the attacked player to a random nearby location, interrupting the fight and leaving you vulnerable

Zombie Features

The undead horde has become more relentless and inventive than ever.

  • Player infection: When a player dies from a zombie, a new zombie may spawn at their death location, bearing their name and continuing the horde
  • Digging and pillar building: Zombies won't be stopped by height. They will dig down or build pillars up to reach you

Spider Enhancements

Spiders now use their webs as tactical weapons to catch prey.

  • Victim webbing: Spiders can shoot webs to catch their victims, slowing them down and placing cobwebs at their feet

Full Configuration

Every feature can be customized to your taste! Use the configuration file (/config/smartmobs-common.toml) to:

  • Enable or disable any feature completely
  • Adjust probabilities for things like charged creepers or zombie infections
  • Fine-tune mob detection radius, damage multipliers, and effect durations
  • Configure evasion chances and other behavioral parameters
