🐌 Snailspeed
Snailspeed is a gameplay overhaul mod inspired by the design philosophy of Better Than Wolves. Rather than rushing through the tech tree, this mod encourages players to slow down, think strategically, and embrace the long road to progress.
In vanilla Minecraft, players often find themselves leaping from stone tools to diamonds in a matter of minutes. Snailspeed changes that by redesigning early- to mid-game systems to make progression more deliberate and rewarding.
🛠️ Key Features
Deliberate Progression
Advancement is no longer instant. Whether it's crafting new tools or unlocking new resources, players will have to work harder to progress.
Rebalanced Recipes
Many crafting recipes have been reworked to reflect a more grounded, survival-focused experience. Iron and redstone are no longer the early-game freebies they once were.
📦 Compatibility
This mod is designed for use with 1.21.4, and should work well in modpacks focused on:
- Survival and realism
- Primitive-based progression mods
🙏 Inspiration
Snailspeed draws conceptual inspiration from the legendary Better Than Wolves mod by FlowerChild, as well as the Community Edition. However, no code or assets have been reused — this is a wholly original take on the slow-tech survival genre.
