Snowdrift - Realistic Snow Accumulation

Imagine a winter landscape where snow gradually accumulates, forming picturesque drifts that slowly melt when the snowfall stops. This is the realistic effect created by the Snowdrift mod, which adds dynamic snow cover formation to the game.

This modification draws inspiration from the Winter Wonder Land project, which first introduced the concept of gradual snow accumulation throughout the game world during snowfalls.

Configuration Settings

The mod offers a flexible parameter system for fine-tuning snow behavior:

increaseChancePerChunk - determines the probability of snow cover increase in each chunk. The default value of 200 corresponds to approximately one attempt every 10 seconds. Lower values result in faster snow accumulation.

decreaseChancePerChunk - similar parameter for the snow melting process. Default value is set to 400.

layersToKeep - minimum number of snow layers that are preserved during melting. It's recommended to set this value above 1 so snow biomes don't become completely bare.

maxLayers - maximum snow cover height in a single location. Value 8 corresponds to a full snow block and is set by default.

smoothingRequirement - requirement for the number of surrounding snow blocks of equal height to increase the central position. Maximum value is 4.
