Soul Squad Origins
THIS MOD REQUIRES ORIGINS TO BE INSTALLED
Soul Squad is an expansion of one of my first Origins addons called Poltergeist. It includes both Poltergeist itself and a completely new ability called Hivemind.
Poltergeist: A Spirit That Possesses Blocks
Poltergeist turns you into a ghost capable of taking over various blocks. Each block has a specific mining level and attack damage. Some blocks even grant you special abilities.
Main Abilities
Poltergeist exists in two forms: spiritual and material.
In spiritual form, you cannot interact with the world but can pass through blocks. You cannot break or place blocks.
In material form, you gain a physical body and can fully interact with the surrounding world.
Since Poltergeist has no living body, it cannot use tools or armor - its "body" becomes the block. Instead, it inherits all the properties of the block it possesses.
By pressing the [Primary] key inside a block, you possess it and gain its abilities. If you are already in a block, pressing it again will free you. Also, while crouching and holding a block, you can press [Swap block with Hand] to replace the current block with the one you're holding.
Block Durability
The material form of Poltergeist gradually wears down blocks. Depending on the block material, you will have more or less time before it breaks. When a block breaks, it disappears, and you'll need to create a new one to possess it again.
Unique Block Abilities
Crafting Table
[Secondary] Opens a portable crafting window, eliminating the need to place a crafting table.
Furnace
Automatically smelts any mined blocks, including sand, logs, stone, and ores!
Smoker
Automatically smelts loot from killed mobs and doubles the amount of loot.
Blast Furnace
Automatically smelts mined blocks and doubles the amount of resources.
Dispenser
[Secondary] Shoots arrows that you're holding in your hand.
Hopper
Teleports items within a 5-block radius to the player.
TNT
[Secondary] Lights the TNT and frees you from the block.
Block of Netherite
Grants fire immunity while possessing it.
Dragon Head
Gives you a set of elytra!
Brewing Stand
Allows you to consume blaze powder, magma cream, sugar, or a ghast tear to receive the corresponding potion effects. To use, right-click the ingredients in your inventory.
Beacon
With 9 base blocks nearby, gives jump boost. With 18 blocks - speed, with 27 - strength.
Chest
[Secondary] Opens a chest to store items.
Ender Chest
[Secondary] Opens an ender chest to store items.
Shulker Box
[Secondary] Opens a double chest to store items.
Hivemind: Collective Consciousness
Hivemind represents a more human-like origin. You spawn as a human but with one less heart, and the hearts are purple. Using your active ability, you can create new bodies at the cost of some maximum health.
Main Abilities
[Primary] Create an additional body
[Open Body UI] Open the body selection screen
The main feature of Hivemind is the ability to spread across multiple locations simultaneously. Your soul can freely travel between bodies regardless of distance.
Beware: although each body has its own inventory, health, hunger, and other characteristics, they remain players even when you're not controlling them. Mobs will attack unprotected bodies.
