SoundSelection for Minecraft Beta 1.7.3
The SoundSelection Babric mod extends Minecraft Beta 1.7.3 capabilities by allowing custom sound pack loading similar to texture packs. The mod's key feature is that it's completely client-side and works in multiplayer mode.
Main Features
The mod provides a convenient interface for managing sound packs. On first launch, a soundpacks folder is automatically created where you can add your own sound collections. To create a sound pack, simply copy the structure of the resources folder, modify the desired sound files, then archive and remove unchanged sounds.
If a sound is missing from the custom pack, the game automatically uses default Minecraft sounds. Pack information is taken from the pack.mcmeta file where the title and description are specified. If no title is provided, the zip archive name is used.
Interface Management
The sound menu icon appears in the game interface but can be disabled if needed through the configuration file. To do this, set the displayGUI parameter to false in the soundselection.json file. After selecting a sound pack, a game restart is required to apply the changes.
Installation via Prism Launcher
- Download and install a Babric instance for Prism Launcher
- Ensure Java 17 is being used
- Add the SoundSelection mod to the mods folder

For extended functionality, you can additionally install CryonicConfig, StationAPI, and Mod Menu mods.
