Spatial Difficulty
Solve three problems at once! Create a natural choice between risk and reward in the world, give players an incentive to stick together, and protect newcomers from instant death by skeletons with enchanted bows.
How it works
The mod repurposes the vanilla "local difficulty" mechanic, making it dependent on distance from spawn point rather than time spent in a chunk (maximum values correspond to vanilla game). Other features remain - mobs get armor and weapons, enchantments activate, and special versions of creatures appear (for example, spiders with potions).
Settings
The difficulty growth rate can be configured through the configuration file, with the center always being the world spawn point.
Compatibility
Performance impact is minimal. Incompatible with mods that change the principle of local difficulty operation, but there are practically none. Works entirely server-side, but on the client the debug screen may show incorrect difficulty level.
