Spit Splat

Meet the New Ocean Dweller
Above the water surfaces (except frozen oceans), you can encounter a floating creature that becomes aggressive when spotting a player. However, instead of close combat, it prefers ranged attacks by shooting bubbles at you.

Special Bubble Abilities
Being hit by a bubble applies a new potion effect to the player - the bubble trap. You don't take damage but become trapped in a bubble that slowly rises upward before popping, causing you to fall.
Taming and Defense
Spit Splat can be tamed using kelp, if you manage to approach it quickly enough! After taming, right-clicking activates turret mode, where it defends the area while remaining stationary in a floating state.
Useful Resources
Killing several Spit Splats yields raw meat and scales. Raw meat provides the bubble effect for 2 seconds, useful for climbing, returning to the ocean surface, or crafting potions. Cooked meat additionally gives the slow falling effect after the bubble pops, allowing safe landings.

Weapon and Potion Crafting
Scales are used to craft two types of weapons and bubble potions/arrows:

Splatter - Ranged Weapon
This weapon doesn't deal significant damage but allows shooting bubbles at enemies from long distances.

Splat Totem - Powerful Protective Artifact
This totem, despite its modest appearance, contains the power of Spit Splat. When activated, it creates a wave around you, granting the conduit power effect for 1 minute. The wave extinguishes fire on you and your pets while trapping monsters in bubbles for 4 seconds. The totem can be used 50 times before breaking with a 3-minute cooldown.
