Splinecart
This modification introduces a special type of rail blocks into the game, allowing the construction of smooth curved tracks for minecarts, perfectly suited for creating roller coasters.
Originally developed for ModFest: Carnival
Getting Started
Place a rail support block on any side of another block. Right-click on the supports to change their orientation. Important: supports have a "forward" direction marked by a sequence of dark arrows on the block. This determines where outgoing tracks will start and incoming tracks will end.
Place a second support in the required position elsewhere. Use the rail item on the first support, then on the second to create a connecting path. The order of selecting supports matters. Use standard Minecraft rails to launch a minecart onto the first support.
Track Types
- Regular Track: standard path for minecart movement
- Chain Drive: track that constantly pushes the minecart forward, allowing it to overcome steep inclines
- Magnetic Track: adjustable section whose strength depends on the redstone signal level on the support. Suitable for acceleration or braking, but works poorly on steep slopes
Motion Sickness Warning
If you are prone to motion sickness, execute the command before riding: /splinecartc config rotate_camera false
Splinecart uses sharp camera rotation (see examples in the gallery), which may cause discomfort for sensitive users. Executing the specified command disables camera rotation while riding on Splinecart tracks to reduce the risk.
Additional measures include activating third-person mode along with the above settings. Camera rotation can be restored with the command /splinecartc config rotate_camera true
.
