Sweet Potato Reborn

The Sweet Potato Reborn mod represents a revival of the popular sweet potato-themed addition. It harmoniously combines agriculture and magic through three special workstations: the agroforestry table, grinder, and magic cube.

Sweet Potato Revival

This project is based on the original Sweet Potato Mod and adapted for modern Minecraft versions 1.20 and above. All popular mod loaders are supported: Forge, Fabric, and NeoForge. The code has been completely rewritten and optimized, with new features added such as enchanted trees and random status effects.

Sweet Potato Variety

The mod features three main types of sweet potatoes: purple, red, and white. Each exists in three variants: raw, baked, and enchanted. Raw sweet potatoes can be found in treasure chests or obtained with a certain probability when killing zombies, husks, and zombie villagers.

After obtaining any sweet potato, you'll earn the "Sweet and Soft" advancement. Raw sweet potatoes can be planted on farmland for cultivation.

Preparation and Usage

Raw sweet potatoes can be baked in a furnace, smoker, or over a campfire to obtain baked sweet potatoes that restore significant hunger values. When consuming any type of sweet potato, peel remains, which serves as important fuel for the magic cube.

In the magic cube, you can transform one type of raw sweet potato into another or enchant it. Enchanted sweet potatoes grant one or more random status effects when consumed.

Useful Stations

The Grinder processes sweet potatoes into sweet potato powder. When placing any raw or enchanted sweet potato, a value accumulates, and grinding begins when reaching 15 units.

The Magic Cube activates when soul fire is lit in the 3×3 area beneath it. The activated cube emits a beautiful purple aura and allows genetic modification or enchanting of raw sweet potatoes. The cube has explosion resistance comparable to obsidian but can be mined with an iron pickaxe.

The Agroforestry Table with a golden work area allows upgrading saplings and crops to their enchanted versions using sweet potato powder. Enchanted plants grow significantly faster than regular ones.

Enchanted Plants

Enchanted saplings of six types (oak, spruce, birch, jungle, acacia, and dark oak) have a shimmering enchanted glow. They grow much faster than regular ones and generate enchanted trees. They can only be collected with silk touch tools.

Enchanted crops also grow significantly faster than their regular counterparts. Enchanted variants also require silk touch tools for collection. Some enchanted crops can be used to feed animals.

Technical Features

The mod requires pre-installation of Architectury API, and for Fabric, Fabric API is also necessary. It's recommended to install the latest versions to ensure stable operation.

The author continues development and plans to add support for versions 1.21.x and implement features that weren't completed in the original mod.

The mod has open source code under Apache 2.0 license. For inclusion in modpacks, it's recommended to contact the author.

For server operation, the mod must be installed simultaneously on both client and server.

Connections with Other Mods

Sweet Potato Reborn is linked with the Xdi8Aho mod for Minecraft 1.21.4 and above, opening additional content integration possibilities.
