Spore inquisition
This datapack fundamentally changes the mechanics of fungal infection spread in Minecraft. Instead of random infected creatures spawning in darkness, the infection now spreads through special formations - mounds, which become the main source of world contamination.
Main Changes
The infection is now surface-focused, rarely penetrating caves. This allows observing the systematic takeover of the world by the fungal threat. At the start of the game, an immortal mound appears near the spawn location that cannot be destroyed for 24 hours - it becomes the starting point of infection.
New Mechanics
The proto hive mind now pursues the nearest player, sending specters and creating arena tendrils. Specters can create new mounds and spread infection to remote locations. The kill count for reconstructed mind evolution has been increased from 40 to 500, but new tall biomass towers help protos appear without issues.
Mod Compatibility
Added integration with Create, including numerous new recipes for bile factories and using biomass as fuel. Also features compatibility with Wither Storm, Alex Mobs, and Better Combat mods.
