Strictly Origins

This mod expands the capabilities of the Forge version of the Origins mod, adding numerous unique origins for your character. Each origin possesses special abilities and drawbacks that fundamentally change the gameplay.

Main Origins and Their Features

High Elf

Has a fire spell as the main ability, increased jump height with reduced fall damage. Enemies glow when attacked. Is vegetarian, stands 2.5 blocks tall, has enhanced vision in forests and hyper vision.

Plantamancer (1.18+)

Can release poisonous ivy that poisons targets. Accelerates plant growth when pressing Shift+RMB. Heals in water, gains speed boost during the day, but vulnerable to fire and lava, weakens in low light levels.

Paladin (1.18+)

Sets undead on fire when attacking. Main ability "Praise the Sun" provides healing, resistance and regeneration for 10 seconds. Receives Durendal sword and book with repair instructions. Damage increases when holding the sword, but has increased appetite and vulnerability to undead.

Knight (1.18+)

Starts the game with Skofnung sword. Overall damage increased, additional bonus when holding the sword. Slow, cannot use bows. Main ability "Crescent Worship" heals and increases attack speed for 30 seconds.

Bird of Paradise

Deals more damage while flying with elytra. Lightweight, moves faster on foot. Can fly by combining flapping and gliding. Cannot wear heavy armor, eats only meat, cannot swim.

Orc Shaman (requires SkillCloaks and Orcz mods)

Immune to effects of own attacks. Can resurrect the dead in a devastating attack. Possesses shaman hood with protective properties. Learned powers of the orc god of curses. Slows down at night.

Wild Cat

Takes no fall damage, has night vision outside water. Can scare creepers, climbs walls. Eats meat, hunger increases in water.

Troll

Very slow, but deals double damage. Requires lots of food, cannot wear armor (except helmets). Has 2.5x more health, enormous height. Immune to hunger and poison.

Thief (requires Blue Skies mod)

Has additional 3x3 inventory, items not lost on death. Moves faster, but starts with 6 hearts. Receives diamonds and bag of spoils. Speed increases when holding diamonds, deals more damage on attacks, but requires more food.

Priest (1.16.5-1.18.2, requires Relics mod)

Starts with XP bottles, lapis and holy locket. Nimble, has holy shield, vegetarian. Immune to fall damage, has ender particles around body.

Raccoon

Can become invisible for 10 seconds. Breathes underwater, has night vision in darkness. Immune to poison in food, poisons enemies when attacking. Has speed and jump boost, sharp claws. Climbs walls, has thick fur and extra health. Hunger decreases slower, regeneration when holding brown dye. Small height, fears confined spaces, cannot hold shield, arrows pass through only with harming effect.

Honey Bee

Collects nectar from flowers, converts it to honey or honeycombs. Can hover and fly, consuming nectar. Cannot fly in rain. Has lethal stinger dealing 30 damage and poison but killing the bee. Eats only flowers, has yellow skin. Fragile body with 6 hearts, gets nausea and slowness near smoke.

Otter

Has pouch for food under forearm. Can launch self in direction looking while submerged. Fights quickly in water, perfect vision underwater. Breaks blocks underwater as on land, doesn't sink unless desired. Holds breath longer, physically stronger. Eats meat, slightly smaller than regular human. Cannot hold shield, requires more food, takes more damage from impaling, fears confined spaces, has 8 hearts.

Dwarf

Has haste, night vision. Main ability - drinking brew with regeneration. Very small, sinks in water. Constantly hungry, certain axes deal more damage. Strength increases when holding gold, can mine stone by hand.

Barako (1.16.5-1.18.2, requires Mowzies mobs mod)

Uses power of barakoa for 25 minutes. Can become invincible for 25 seconds with 5-minute cooldown. Gets strength in sunlight, but starts with 1 heart, slows down at night.

Note: When using Pehkui mod (for size scaling) set KeepScaleOnRespawn to true to maintain size on respawn.
