SuperFancyClouds: Refabricated

Updated Version for Fabric

This is an unofficial port of the SuperFancyClouds mod for the Fabric platform. All credits belong to the original developer ami-wishes.

Starting from version 1.7.4, the mod supported multiple loaders and was renamed to "Rearchitected" (based on ArchAPI).

From version 2.0.0, we returned to supporting only Fabric.

Enhanced Features

Main Functions

  • Full customization of cloud height, density, width, thickness, and other parameters.
  • Clouds react to current weather, changing their density.
  • Cloud density depends on the biome where the player is located.
  • Clouds acquire a pinkish hue at dawn and dusk.
  • Clouds avoid high mountains and buildings (version >1.7.0, inspired by RealisticClouds mod).
  • Precise cloud placement considering biome by chunks (version >1.7.0).
  • Support for separate configuration for different dimensions.
  • And many other features...

Fixes

  • Clouds are not cut off at view boundaries.
  • Clouds are not rendered in dimensions without natural lighting.
  • Fixed the issue with cloud updates during long gameplay sessions.
  • Improved flickering issue when crossing chunk borders (cannot be completely eliminated due to hardware limitations).

Compatibility and Dependencies

Required Mods

For all platforms:
  • Architectury API is required.
  • Cloth Config is optional for creating configuration screen on client.
Additional for Fabric:
  • Fabric API is required.
  • Mod Menu is optional for accessing settings on client.

Compatibility

  • Since version 2.0.0, clouds no longer cover LOD chunks of Distant Horizons mod, as DH rendering system is used.

Incompatibility

Obviously incompatible with most mods that modify cloud rendering system, including Cull Clouds, Extended Clouds and others. Combined use may cause issues or crashes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Few clouds?

This may be normal due to noise generation system and dynamic density feature. You can decrease sample steps, biome affect, and increase common density in settings to generate more clouds. (The density curve has a stepped character, so significant slider movement may be required.)

Fog may also hide clouds. Disable it to check cloud amounts.

If high biome affect value is set and you are in desert or savanna, there may be no clouds in the sky. This depends on precipitation level in the biome.

Client or Server?

Since version 1.5.0, SFCRe is optional for both sides. This means you can connect to any server with or without the mod installed, and a server with SFCR allows connection without the mod on client. However, mod functions will not be available in this case.

On server, there is a command list for administrators to remotely manage SFCR features and settings. Type /sfcr in chat to see them.

Client sends synchronization request every 30 seconds (default, can be changed by command). Server may respond and send necessary data back.
