Survive

Overview
Survive is a modification that significantly increases the difficulty and realism of survival in Minecraft! The mod introduces a whole range of new mechanics, including thirst, stamina, body temperature, hygiene, nutrition, sleep, and overall character well-being systems. An in-game guide is available (requires Patchouli installation) that can be crafted from three pieces of paper and one plank - it contains detailed explanations of all mechanics not covered here.

Core Mechanics
Thirst
A thirst indicator now appears above the standard hunger bar. Maintain its level by consuming water and other fluids. The mechanic works similarly to hunger - if the indicator drops to zero, the character will begin to die from dehydration. You can quickly replenish water by crouching and right-clicking on a water source block, or by drinking a water bottle. To avoid the negative "Thirst" effect, purify water through smelting or use potions. The "Thirst" effect accelerates the depletion of the bar, similar to how "Hunger" affects the satiety indicator. With both thirst and well-being modules enabled, prolonged exposure to the "Thirst" effect will lead to illness.
Body Temperature
Your character's temperature depends on the biome's climate conditions and the temperature of surrounding blocks. Standard armor increases insulation and heating rate. Wool armor enhances cold resistance, while hardened honey armor improves heat resistance. Severe hypothermia will freeze you, while overheating will roast you. With the well-being module enabled, prolonged exposure to extreme temperatures will cause hypothermia or hyperthermia, gradually reducing health and stamina to 28% of maximum. By default, temperature is displayed as a tint on the hotbar, but settings allow changing the display to a separate bar above the screen or a numerical value.
Sleep
Your character now requires regular sleep for proper functioning. Avoiding rest for extended periods will cause the body to malfunction. This manifests as negative effects impacting movement speed and other characteristics, as well as gradually deteriorating vision. Consuming caffeinated or sugary drinks provides the "Energized" effect, which removes fatigue and grants various positive bonuses.
Stamina
Many actions in the world now consume a new stat - stamina. It can be restored by standing still, walking instead of running, or lying in bed. Full sleep completely replenishes the bar. When stamina is completely depleted, the indicator turns red and displays three reserve segments - this signals that further physical exertion will lead to death. When reserve stamina runs out, the character will quickly die from exhaustion.
Configuration
Each mechanic can be disabled in the configuration file. For some systems, additional settings are available to adjust the degree of influence of various game factors on Survive's mechanics.
Datapacks
Almost all aspects related to items and biomes can be customized using datapacks. If you want to create your own datapacks, visit the developer's page - there you'll find all necessary information for adapting the mod to your needs. If you don't plan to create datapacks yourself but want to use ready-made solutions, check the author's Discord server in the user submissions channel or search for suitable datapacks online. Also note: the author does not accept requests to add support for food from other mods. If you want specific food to work with this mod, you need to either add it yourself or contact the developer of the corresponding mod.
