Swarm Origins

The mod requires Extra Keybinds(Forge). Online gameplay is the best way to enjoy all the features of this add-on, as single-player mode may seem quite challenging due to balance features initially configured for PvP and role-playing servers.

This modification presents 16 unique races united by an insectoid theme with elements of a collective mind. Imagine ants, xenomorphs, or tyranids. They have both impressive advantages and significant drawbacks: these creatures surpass humans in physical parameters, can climb walls and ceilings, but are incredibly vulnerable to fire, do not regenerate health with food, suffer from constant severe hunger, and cannot use items, equipment, or interact with blocks.

Starter Races

Stunner — a fast specialist capable of effectively immobilizing enemies.
Scout — a speedy master of distraction and tactical harassment.
Soldier — an all-rounder without obvious weaknesses or special tricks.
Sentry — a sufficiently mobile tank capable of self-healing.
Specter — a stealth specialist with decent damage for practical use.
Spitter — a ranged fighter capable of unleashing a barrage of attacks on enemies while evading retaliation.
Support — a medic, almost useless in combat but vitally necessary for supporting allies.

Development and Evolution

After the initial stage, players gain access to seven second-tier races and two third-tier races, into which they can evolve over time. Each race is endowed with three active abilities and one or two passive skills. The evolution process takes 15 minutes; to track progress, simply hold the Shift key. Players can also change castes within the current level every 10 minutes or downgrade to the previous one.

Specialization Variants

In addition to racial features, 6 specialization variants are available that seriously affect the gameplay style:

Natural — standard variant without advantages or disadvantages.
Acrobatic — increased jump height and running speed at the cost of -5 health and blindness in water.
Aquatic — high swimming speed, but -5 health and blindness on land.
Alate — flight with elytra in exchange for -5 health and slowness on land and in water.
Stalker — radar-like detection of mobs through walls, but -10 health and permanent darkness.
Haunter — ability to pass through walls for -10 health and eternal darkness.
