Symbiosis - Mutate Your Plants!
The Symbiosis modification, created for the thematic ECModjam competition "Synergy", offers a unique plant interaction system. In various biomes, you can find special Bulb Shrubs that provide different status effects.
Natural Plants
Two types of natural Bulb Shrubs generate in the Minecraft world: Regeneration shrubs in cherry groves and Speed shrubs in flower forests.
Plant Mutation
The mutation system allows creating new plant species. Place Blazethorn Bushes next to Regeneration Bulb Shrubs, and over time they will transform into Strength shrubs. Blazethorn Bushes naturally generate throughout the Nether dimension.
To create Slow Falling Bulb Shrubs, place Chorus Flowers (not plants) next to Speed Bulb Shrubs. After a certain time, transformation will occur.
Obtaining Effects
To obtain status effects, you need to craft an Empty Flask using 3 glass blocks in an L-shape and leather in the corner. Right-clicking an Empty Flask on a Bulb Shrub will give you the corresponding status effect.
You can also use a regular Bulb Shrub (obtained after interacting with natural or mutated shrubs) in a brewing stand to turn a regular potion into a Filled Flask. This halves the potion's duration, but the consumption time is also reduced by half.
Future updates plan to add new Bulb Shrub variants to expand interaction possibilities.
