Tears of Gaia
Mod Overview
This compact Minecraft addon is designed to diversify and enhance your gaming experience with tools and armor. While the mod is primarily developed for standard vanilla equipment, it also includes Tetra support - in this case, gems provide Tetra tools with somewhat different characteristics and abilities.
How to Start Playing
The developer intentionally didn't add detailed instructions or guides to the game. You'll have to explore and discover the mod's capabilities on your own during gameplay. This is done to preserve the element of surprise and exploration.
You can find gems during regular gameplay, simply go about your business at depths below level 16. When you find precious stones, try upgrading your best pickaxe or chestplate by using an anvil to combine items.
Concept and Philosophy
The creator of this mod wasn't entirely satisfied with existing tool and armor modifications. While mods like Tinker's Construct impress the first time you see molten iron flow down and take the shape of a pickaxe head, in subsequent playthroughs you repeat the same actions: creating the same cobalt hammer, the same iron pickaxe for fortune...
Tetra does feel more organic and adds an exploration aspect, but the problem remains - in different worlds you create identical tools. This is exactly what Tears of Gaia tries to change - you want to use items from this mod to upgrade your tools, but they are rare enough that you'll have to make do with what you have. Most likely, you won't have enough resources to install exactly what you want on every piece of armor and every tool.
