Tektopia Recycler
An expansion for the TekTopia modification that introduces a recycling system for unwanted structure and profession tokens, exchanging them for emeralds. This addon incorporates a specialized merchant known as the Recycler into the gameplay experience.
The Recycler's presence in the settlement is determined by the time of day - they appear exclusively during daylight hours. Activation occurs daily at dawn. Their location is established at the blacksmith's forge (if the village has a blacksmith) or at the merchant stall in other circumstances.
The frequency of the Recycler's visits varies depending on the population size of the village: the more inhabitants, the less frequently this trader appears. This parameter can be adjusted through the mod's configuration settings.
Items Available for Recycling
The system accepts tokens only from specific categories:
Structure Tokens:
- Barracks
- Blacksmith
- Butcher
- Chicken Coop
- Cow Pen
- Guard Post
- Various sized Homes
- Kitchen
- Library
- Merchant Stall
- Mineshaft
- Pig Pen
- Sheep Pen
- School
- Storage
- Tavern
Profession Tokens:
- Bard
- Blacksmith
- Chef
- Cleric
- Druid
- Enchanter
- Farmer
- Guard
- Lumberjack
- Miner
- Rancher
- Teacher
Important limitation: only tokens linked to a specific village are eligible for recycling. Items acquired from other settlements are not accepted by the system.
Note: with the Tektopia Tinker modification, it becomes possible to convert foreign tokens for subsequent recycling.
Economic Aspects
The number of emeralds received is calculated based on the current market value of the token in the village, with a maximum limit of 64 emeralds. The configuration allows adjustment of the percentage of returned value (default set to 50%).
Management Commands
The mod includes an administrative command system:
Forced Recycler Spawn:
/recycler spawn <0|1> [me]
<0|1>- selection of recycler type: 0 for structure tokens, 1 for profession tokens[me]- optional parameter for spawning near the player
Recycler Removal:
/recycler kill
Technical Features
The modification operates on both client-side and server-side. For multiplayer gaming, installation on both sides is required. In single-player mode, only client-side installation is sufficient. Free usage in modified game packs is permitted.
