Tetra Niche Materials

Tetra Niche Materials - Expanding Weapon Crafting Possibilities

This mod serves as an addition to the main Tetra modification, significantly expanding the arsenal of available weapons and crafting materials.

New Weapon Types

The mod introduces several unique weapon types that were previously unavailable in the game:

  • Throwing spears (Javelins)
  • Glaives with long shafts
  • Long infantry spears
  • Curved Khopesh swords
  • Scimitars with curved blades
  • Crossbows with windlass mechanism
  • Full-sized bow crossbows
  • Compact crossbows with short limbs

Improvements to Base Tetra System

The modification introduces changes to standard Tetra mechanics. Long handles are now available for double-headed tools, and damage honing has become possible for both single and double-headed weapons, making them more practical in combat. Crossbows have received additional honing options that increase their long-term value.

Metal Properties Overhaul

The mod revises the characteristics of standard Forge and vanilla Minecraft metals, bringing them closer to real physical properties. These changes don't always align with original Minecraft logic (for example, gold now provides an enchantment bonus instead of inexplicably high tool efficiency), but they make gameplay more logical and balanced.

New Alloys and Their Creation

Various alloys have been added, some of which are available without additional mods:

Basic Alloys

  • Rose Gold
  • Bronnum
  • Blurine

The alloy creation process involves several stages: first, metals are crushed into dust at the Tetra workbench (similar to geode processing), then mixed on a regular crafting table, after which the resulting mixture is smelted in a blast furnace.

Rose Gold is recognized by Piglins as gold, and its helmet can be upgraded with a diamond at a smithing table to increase durability. Bronnum represents a bronze variant based on redstone, providing additional use for copper. Blurine serves as a more accessible alternative to Netherite, created from glowstone, iron, and coal dust.

Additional Alloys

  • White Gold (analog of rose gold with different design)
  • Culuminum (improved aluminum alloy)
  • Marel (high-carbon steel comparable to Netherite)

Compatibility with Other Mods

The mod provides full integration with materials from popular modifications:

  • Alex's Mobs
  • Biomes O Plenty
  • Deeper And Darker
  • Endless Biomes
  • Mutant Monsters
  • Mystic's Biomes
  • Regions Unexplored
  • RPG Style More Weapons
  • The Aether
  • The Graveyard (Dark Iron with bonus damage against living targets)
  • The Undergarden (Auggrum alloy from gold and cloggrum, recognized by Piglins)
  • Twilight Forest (two unique alloys)

Vivecraft support has also been added through special tags.

Unique Boss Drops

Dooferfish Scales

Dropped by Elder Guardians. Armor made from these scales significantly increases swimming speed and provides permanent water breathing after taking any damage.

Darkbottom Bones

Obtained from the Warden. Armor made from these bones applies the Glowing effect to attacking mobs, allowing you to track their movement even through obstacles.
