TFC Better Stone Age
This addon expands the TerraFirmaCraft technology tree with new development branches that don't require copper, significantly enhancing the early game experience.
IMPORTANT: The alpha version and release version of Better Stone Age are incompatible with each other. Switching between them in an existing world may cause serious issues.
NOTE: If you have questions about how the mod's features work, first check the Patchouli documentation available through the book tab in your inventory.
Main Features
Ceramic vessels can now be dyed in different colors, with this feature available from the very beginning of the game without needing copper.
Stone tool improvement system now has a binding progression: tools without bindings have reduced durability, while quality bindings provide additional forging bonuses.
Multifunctional tool heads (Acheulean handaxes) can be crafted through knapping and used instead of any stone tool heads for recipes that don't require bindings.
New resources from mobs - creatures now drop sinew when killed, which can be processed into a string substitute.
Bone working allows creating bone fishhooks for corresponding fishing rods.
Flint now generates naturally underwater and is used for creating higher-quality stone tools.
- Arrows are crafted from arrowheads made through knapping from bone, flint, or stone, rather than from raw flint.
- Gravel no longer drops flint when broken.
Grain processing on an anvil (including stone anvil) allows obtaining:
- Crushed grains that can be boiled in a water pot to make porridge
- Coarse flour used for less efficient dough creation
