The Lord of the Rings Mod: Renewed represents an ongoing development - a port of the famous mod for version 1.7.10 to the modern Minecraft 1.16 platform. This project, which has become one of the most extensive in modding history, continues to delight Tolkien and Minecraft fans worldwide.
Key Features
Discover a completely new dimension that generates according to the Middle-earth map and includes over 100 unique biomes. You'll find thousands of new blocks and items, including specialized sets for various factions, many new tree species, flowers, and realistically modeled fallen leaves.
Immersion is enhanced by a special night sky, improved rain system, and northern lights in the lands of Forodwaith. The mod offers unique crafting and smelting stations, vertical slabs, wooden stairs, and complex multiblock gates.
The combat system has been significantly expanded - now different weapon types have unique attack speed and range. An entertaining drinks-brewing system will add atmosphere to your adventure, while the waypoint and fast travel system will make world exploration more convenient.
Generated roads lead throughout Middle-earth, and encountered NPCs represent various factions of this world. A unique dialogue system takes character environments into account, making their lines more natural. And of course, you'll encounter caracals - those famous "floppa cats"!
Future Updates
Although the current version already offers a huge amount of content, in the coming months developers plan to add an expanded faction system where your actions will affect relationships with various groups, hundreds of new NPCs and structures, the lands of Harad and Rhûn, mini-quests, lots of new weapons and armor, and multiplayer features including banner protection.
Flexible Customization via Datapacks
The mod actively uses datapack capabilities - you can customize crafting, smelting, and brewing recipes, as well as completely customize map generation by changing world scale or creating a completely new map based on your own PNG image. The fast travel system is also customizable - you can rename, move waypoints, or add new ones. Road routes and NPC faction alignments are also configurable through data files.
Technical Requirements
The current version Renewed-5.5 for Minecraft 1.16.5 requires Minecraft Forge version 36.2.0 or higher.
