About the Modification
The Root of Fear mod introduces players to a new dangerous monster called the Wilted — a mutated relative of the Creaking creature. This being has merged with its heart and managed to break free from the Pale Garden, gaining the ability to roam freely throughout the entire Overworld.
The Wilted draws power from surrounding darkness, making the player — the main source of light in the world — its primary target. The monster is characterized by extreme unpredictability due to a complex artificial intelligence system that includes randomly generated behavioral patterns with each appearance.

Gameplay Features
- Two days before the monster's arrival, you'll begin hearing its voice at night
- On the day of the attack, the Overworld will be enveloped in a dense mysterious fog
- At night, the Wilted will appear disguised as an ordinary creature — you need to hold out as long as possible
- Direct confrontation with the monster is not recommended
- When the creature reveals its true form, immediately seek safe illuminated shelter
- Destroy the roots that cover your light sources
- Survive the attacks until morning
- The first appearance of the Wilted will occur on the second night, after which the monster will return 2-10 days after the previous attack
Command System
The command block provides the following management capabilities:

— shows the day of the Wilted's appearance/rootoffear spawnday getrelative
— displays the number of days until the next appearance/rootoffear spawnday set
— allows setting a specific day for the monster's arrival/rootoffear spawnday setrelative
— sets the number of days until possible appearance/rootoffear assignedwilted get
— shows the Wilted connected to the current dimension/rootoffear assignedwilted set
— attaches an existing monster to this dimension/rootoffear assignedwilted clear
— detaches the current dimension from its Wilted/rootoffear ultimatetarget get
— indicates the ultimate target of the selected monster/rootoffear ultimatetarget set
— sets the target for all selected Wilted/rootoffear ultimatetarget clear
— clears the set targets/rootoffear setdisguised
— manages the disguise state of selected monsters
