Thermia
Thermia is a deep and dynamic temperature system with full integration into the vanilla game content. The main focus of development is on creating engaging gameplay rather than artificial difficulty. The mod was created as an alternative to well-known temperature systems like Tough as Nails, drawing inspiration from games such as Don't Starve Together and Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
System Features
Temperature becomes a new core mechanic that the player will constantly interact with. Most basic game mechanics now somehow affect temperature indicators. Here are the main factors determining your temperature:
- Climate conditions — biome type, current sun position, and surrounding blocks
- Equipment — used items, gear, and active enchantments
- Combat effects — some types of damage can cause mobs to overheat or become hypothermic
Be careful: too low temperature threatens hypothermia, slowing movement and dealing periodic damage. Similarly, excessively high temperature leads to hyperthermia, dealing damage and blocking sprint ability. To survive in extreme conditions like the Nether, you'll need appropriate equipment, gear and strategy!
As with my other mod Unbreakable, this modification offers a high degree of customization. Currently, settings are possible through datapacks and resourcepacks, but a configuration file is planned for addition.
