Thermite - Body Temperature System for Minecraft

Thermite - Realistic Body Temperature System

This Fabric mod introduces an advanced body temperature system to Minecraft that responds to environmental factors. Your character's well-being now depends on the biome, time of day, weather conditions, and nearby blocks. Extreme temperatures cause damage, but there are ways to maintain comfortable thermal conditions.

How the System Works

The mod utilizes Minecraft's built-in biome temperature values, converting them into perceived temperature for your character. This ensures compatibility with any modded biomes provided their temperature parameters are properly configured.

Heating Methods

Heat-emitting blocks gradually increase temperature within a 3-block radius. Torches and fire provide +3 heat units, lava +8, and campfires a substantial +15. Leather armor also offers additional insulation: boots +1, leggings +2, chestplate +3, and helmet +1.

Armor insulation can be enhanced through the crafting table by combining leather pieces with wool cloth. Each armor piece can be upgraded twice this way.

Cooling Methods

Cold blocks operate within a smaller radius (2 blocks) and decrease temperature: ice -1, packed ice -3, blue ice -6. This is particularly useful in hot biomes or the Nether when fire resistance potions are unavailable.

Temperature also decreases during rain, snowfall, at night, and when submerged in water. The Fire Protection enchantment cools by 0.5 per level, while Fire Resistance completely protects from heat damage. For cooling, you can use ice juice (recipe available through REI).

Wind Effects

During windy conditions, particles appear showing wind direction. Exposure to wind cools your character, with the effect intensifying at higher altitudes.

Ice Box Mechanics

A new block that allows ice production without the Silk Touch enchantment. Craft an empty ice box, fill it with water from a bottle, and place it in a cold biome. Over time, the water freezes, yielding 3 ice units.

The frozen box functions like packed ice (-3 temperature), but gradually melts in warm biomes - the hotter the biome, the faster it melts.

Brick Fireplace

A lit fireplace heats a large area with +16 power. Use fuel items for ignition: coal and charcoal burn for 60 seconds, coal blocks for 540 seconds, sticks for only 5 seconds.

Placing brick, cobblestone, or stone brick walls above the fireplace creates a chimney effect - smoke rises above the walls.

Temperature Display

A thermometer in the center of your hotbar turns blue when cooling and orange when overheating. Extreme states feature ice or fire effects, while imminent damage causes the indicator to shake.

Overheating

For precise measurements, hold a thermometer in your offhand - a numerical display will appear on screen. The scale doesn't correspond to Celsius or Fahrenheit, with 50 being the neutral point.

Compatibility

Works with Fabric Seasons - temperature changes according to the current season.

Incompatibility

Conflicts with C2ME.
