Tinkers' Complement

Mod Overview

Tinkers' Complement is an additional module for Tinkers' Construct that expands the original mod's capabilities through a modular system. It offers enhanced compatibility with other modifications and additional features particularly useful when creating modpacks.

Current Development Status

Currently, the mod is only available for Minecraft version 1.12.2. The developer plans to update it to more modern versions (1.18.2 or newer), however development is temporarily suspended since the author is also the lead developer of the main Tinkers' Construct mod. The functionality may change significantly in future updates.

Planned Changes

• Melter: Likely to be integrated into the main mod. Possibly adding a scorched version.
• Alloy Tank: Already included in Tinkers' Construct as an alloyer. May add a seared version.
• High Oven: The main feature of the mod, will be expanded with new recipes.
• Bucket Casts: Unlikely to be included due to limited usefulness.
• Porcelain Casting: Unlikely to be included.
• Tools for Chisel and Ex Nihilo: Will not be ported due to absence of corresponding mods in new versions.

Main Features

Melter and Bucket Casts

The melter is a new block that operates on the principle of a smeltery. It can melt ores and ingots into molten metals for subsequent casting. Unlike the smeltery, it does not double ore output and can only contain one liquid at a time, preventing alloying. It can be powered by a lava tank or a special heater that runs on regular fuel at lower temperatures.

Alloy Tank

The alloy tank is designed for creating Tinkers' Construct alloys. It's easier to automate compared to a smeltery and allows controlling the alloying process at the cost of increased fuel consumption. Operation requires a heater or seared lava tank below, and up to five fluid sources on the sides.

Porcelain Casting

With Ceramics mod installed, porcelain versions of the melter, casting table, casting basin, heater, tanks, and alloy tanks are added. This serves as a decorative alternative to seared blocks, allowing restriction of access to seared bricks without blocking melting capabilities.

High Oven

The high oven is a multiblock structure inspired by the original high oven from Tinkers Steelworks. It's used to produce steel, knightslime, and pig iron using special chemical compounds and additives. It can also transform water into superheated fluid capable of melting soft metals in a regular smeltery.

Armor

Adds three new armor types from Tinkers' Construct materials:

• Steel Armor: Enhanced version of iron armor with increased durability and protection
• KnightSlime Armor: Allows player to bounce like with slime boots, protection between iron and diamond
• Manyullyn Armor: More protective than diamond but with lower durability, requires Nether access

Tools

Adds tools for compatibility with other mods:

• Chisel for Chisel: Chisel tool version for Tinkers' Construct with modification capabilities
• Sledge Hammer for Ex Nihilo: Allows performing Ex Nihilo hammer recipes with mining modifiers application
