Tinkers' Survival
A New Beginning in Minecraft
In standard Minecraft, the early game phase is practically non-existent - punch a tree, craft a few items, and you're done! The Tinkers' Survival mod creates a comprehensive progression system for the first days of gameplay that smoothly transitions to creating tools from Tinkers' Construct. If you have Constructs' Armory installed (only for version 1.12.2), the system also includes progression for armor creation!
Key Features
Standard tools and weapons from vanilla game and similar mods become unavailable to the player but remain functional for NPCs and can be used in crafting recipes. The entire tool system is now built around Tinkers' Construct tools and weapons.
Wooden planks can now only be obtained using a saw - a new item that exists in two variants: a primitive version and an improved Tinkers' version. For resource gathering, you must use the appropriate tool, and the system is fully configurable!
Primitive tools are necessary for creating components required for crafting Tinkers' tools. The mod is compatible with most popular mods and perfectly suited for modpacks.
Gameplay Mechanics
Tool System
Each block type requires a corresponding tool. Using an inappropriate tool makes gathering extremely slow. All tools and weapons from mods not on the whitelist become ineffective. If necessary, armor from unauthorized mods can also be disabled.
Planks and sticks can no longer be created without a tool - this requires a saw (primitive or improved).
Special Drops
- Sticks from leaves (chance increases when using a knife)
- Rocks from rock piles (no tool required)
- Plant fiber from grass (only with a knife)
- Flint shards from hitting rocks against stone
World Generation
Rock piles appear in the world, with generation frequency configurable in settings.
