Toolcraft
Toolcraft - Custom Tools Creation Mod
This project was originally planned as Useful Resources 2, but underwent so many changes during development that it received a new name - Toolcraft. Official releases haven't been published yet, but work on the mod is actively underway.
Inspiration and Concept
The mod development is inspired by the famous Tinker's Construct, but implements a more minimalist approach. The upcoming public release will include basic elements: tool parts, new ores, ingots, and a simple world generation system that will be significantly improved in future versions.
Current Status
The mod is in active development. Textures are still being worked on, and after their completion, the first public release will take place. Crafting recipes will be added closer to the full release.
Known Issues
The current version has some shortcomings:
- Titanium sword blade is incorrectly named as "Titanium Pickaxe Head"
- Incorrect name "pquartzph Pickaxe Head" should be corrected to "Pure Quartz Pickaxe Head"
- Sorting in creative tab and NEI requires configuration
- In Alpha 1.1, when a hopper is placed underneath the device, only one third of items are exported, the rest are lost
Development Team
A cohesive team of enthusiasts is working on the project:
Jayfeather311 - project leader, programmer and creator of basic textures. He is the main ideologist of the mod and teaches other participants the basics of modding.
Awesome_Sauce200 - texture team leader. Has a natural talent for creating textures, as seen in the alpha version of the mod. Works on reworking item textures to match block and ingot colors.
Thunderstar1247 - programming team leader and tester. Studies modding under Jayfeather311's guidance, works on basic elements that require significant time.
Ninjadragonking9 - lead tester. Coordinates the work of the testing group on a special server, collects bug reports and passes them to developers.
Future Plans
Developers plan to record a let's play of the mod in the development environment to show players what awaits them in the future. A public test server is also planned, where everyone will be able to try the latest public version of the mod.
The server will have Toolcraft and several additional mods installed. The world may be reset periodically, so players are advised to keep track of their progress. Special in-game tags are provided for YouTubers.
