Translater - Mod for Fun Text Corruption in Minecraft
The Translater mod brings a whole new level of humor to Minecraft by repeatedly running all in-game text through Google Translate. The result is amusingly distorted content that remains partially understandable but brings a smile with every game interaction.
To optimize performance, the mod uses a caching system for all translations. Initial cache creation can take up to 3 hours for the vanilla game (about 5000 text elements), but after that, loading and performance are virtually unaffected. The mod itself already contains a pre-generated name cache that's used by default.
Additionally, you can download a file with pre-prepared translations for most popular mods - this speeds up the process at the cost of slightly more disk space. Note that creating additional files takes time, so they might not be available immediately after an update.
Settings and Features
The mod offers a flexible configuration system:
- Number of text translation cycles (default 10, requires cache recreation)
- Use of random languages as source languages (makes most text almost unreadable, requires cache recreation)
- Selection of target language for translations, which should match the game language. Automatic detection option available
- Progress indicators for tracking translation generation process
Important note: To avoid rate limiting from the translation service, you may need to increase the throttleMillis parameter in the libjf-translate-v1 configuration.
