True Darkness Refabricated

We present an updated version of the popular True Darkness mod, adapted to work with Fabric starting from version 1.20.1 and above. This fork from Grondag's original development preserves all key features while ensuring compatibility with modern game versions.
What does this mod offer?
If the standard lighting system in Minecraft seems insufficiently realistic to you, this mod is the perfect solution. It creates truly dark moonless nights and absolutely black caves without light sources, adding atmosphere and challenge to the game.
In addition to supporting current versions, this version fixes compatibility issues with the Distant Horizons mod and adds server functions, including configuration synchronization.

Frequently asked questions
Question: Is the mod compatible with shaders?
- Answer: No, it is not compatible. The mod modifies the game's standard lightmap, which shaders typically ignore. If you're looking for a similar effect with shaders, ComplementaryShaders includes options for complete cave darkening and moon phase effects on lighting.
Question: Does the mod need to be installed on the server?
- Answer: No, it's not necessary. The visual effects work entirely on the client side. However, installation on the server allows the use of additional functions such as configuration synchronization.
