Under the Moon - Night Upgrade
Under the Moon mod for Minecraft 1.20.1 (Forge) transforms night travel around the world into an exciting adventure. The project adds unique biomes that come to life exclusively under moonlight. Currently, you can explore the Creep Forest - only the first of the planned regions.
Mysterious Creep Forest
This atmospheric biome appears in the Overworld predominantly near old growth taiga biomes. The forest composition consists of giant sweptwood trees with their own wood type, ghostly moonflowers, and mysterious puffball mushrooms.

From puffball mushrooms and moonflowers, you can cook nutritious puffball soup. This dish grants the "Adrenaline" effect, activating increased speed and strength when hostile creatures approach.
In the depths of the forest, you can find abandoned cabins with various loot:

Lunar Treasures
The most valuable trophy from abandoned structures are moonstones - key resources for creating new items and weapons. From them, you can craft moon lamps that attract moths at night and moonlight receivers - unique redstone blocks that generate power depending on the moon phase.
Among other finds, you can discover the exclusive armor trim design "Omega" and music disc "Goodnight world".
Cursed Gifts
Cursed Acorn - a special item from loot or dropping from sweptwood leaves. When thrown at an enemy, it deals damage and applies the "Thorned" effect, making the target damage all surrounding creatures when taking damage. You can also brew corresponding potions from it.
The mod adds five new paintings to the collection!

Inhabitants of the Night Forest
Night Crawlers
Strange cryptids that appear exclusively during the new moon. They feed on puffball mushrooms. After being treated to puffball soup, they begin to trust the player and attack enemies with laser beams, turning them into experience. They only weaken powerful creatures with generous experience rewards. After attacking, they recharge for 60 seconds.
Echobugs and Pupsets
Swarming insects with glowing tails for communication. Their natural enemies - pupsets - roam in packs with an alpha leader. They can be tamed with echobug tails. Alpha males signal all nearby relatives to attack, including wild ones.

For healing, healthy treats are used, and echobug tails are used to make burgers.
Peekers
Passive relatives of creepers who prefer to stay at a distance. With quick reactions, you can saddle a peeker that can climb three-block obstacles. When at low health, they create smoke particles. Their unique explosion when dead fertilizes the ground instead of causing destruction.

From peeker antlers, lunar claws are created with a high chance of additional damage. Potions of antidote are also brewed against poison and withering. Baby peeker fetuses can be planted to grow young who search for adult individuals to ride.
Lugbeetles and Nests
Industrious insects inhabiting characteristic nests in the forest. At night they go out to search for puffball mushrooms. They have strength in numbers - a large colony can defeat even a zoglin.
Destroying a nest's entrance summons the queen lugbeetle - a strong opponent capable of spitting acid and summoning soldiers. Upon death, it leaves beetle mandibles and poison sacs needed to create a succor totem (summons soldiers) and throwable poisonous bombs.
Quillbacks
Dangerous medium-sized creatures attacking various beings. They use powerful jaws and back quills that they can shake for area damage. When necessary, they speed up for pursuit. From dead individuals, quills are obtained for quill bombs, quick stabber sword, and a potion of splintering.
Wendigo
Powerful undead summoned through a special altar. The altar consists of a bone block on moonstone with redstone torches. Throwing a cursed artifact activates the ritual.

The wendigo attacks with bites, claws with additional speed, and creates blood blasts that ignore protection. When at low health, it uses a sonic attack similar to the warden. Remains are used to create the dread knife and blood charm.
