Unearthed [Fabric]
World Generation Features
The world is divided into geological regions where similar rock types prevail. Some areas feature more chaotic rock composition and are called orogens. Unique fossils can be found here that exist nowhere else.
Batholiths represent massive rock formations of magmatic origin rising from bedrock. Secondary rock layers overlay the primary stone layers, along with thin strata that cut through the main rock mass. Tertiary deposits are less common and appear as large mineral accumulations.
Regoliths
These are weathered versions of various stone types, appearing both underground and on the surface in mountain and hill biomes. Configuration allows replacing all dirt with regolith. In the Nether, gravel is replaced by pyroxene in Wastes and Soul Sand Valleys, with pyroxene having all the properties of regular gravel.
Unique Elements
Regoliths
To avoid inventory clutter, you can create regolith of any stone type by combining 8 regular regolith blocks with the desired rock. Breaking grass-covered regolith with a hoe yields dirt while freeing the stone. Vegetation on regolith spreads only when lichen is present.
Puddles
With the "doPuddleCreation" gameplay rule enabled, temporary puddles form near entities entering water. They dry up in open air or under bright lighting. Lichen can naturally appear near moist areas.
Lichen
Rarely found on stone surfaces of hills and mountains. Use shears to collect. Lichen moisture levels depend on proximity to water or puddles. Wet areas can expand until sufficient similar organisms surround them. Stones covered with lichen on five or more sides gradually transform into corresponding regoliths.
Lignite
Found as strata at any depth. Can be directly used in furnaces as low-quality fuel. Combining 8 units of lignite with clay produces coal briquettes with better combustion characteristics and more balanced gameplay mechanics.
Building Blocks
Different stone types feature individual block patterns and unique decorative textures, opening new construction possibilities.
Configuration Settings
The full configuration system is under development, but available options already enable:
-
Adjusting block replacement through tags using datapacks - add blocks that shouldn't be replaced or exclude unwanted ones.
-
replaceable: blocks replaced by rock types
-
replace_dirt: can be replaced by regoliths
-
replace_grass: can be replaced by grassy regolith
-
-
Regolith appears only in mountains and plateaus by default, but settings can be changed for complete dirt block replacement.
-
Enabled debug mode turns the primary stone layer into glass, allowing detailed examination of rock generation.
