Universal Enchants


About the Modification
The Universal Enchants mod opens up completely new enchanting possibilities in Minecraft. Now you can apply almost any enchantment to the items you consider most suitable. No more having to pass up tridents just because they can't accept looting enchantments!
Additionally, many enchantments have received significant improvements, and compatibility restrictions between different enchantments have been removed. Now you can even combine mutually exclusive enchantments like infinity and mending.

Expanded Item Compatibility
Now many standard enchantments can be applied to a much wider range of items:
- Sword: Impaling
- Axe: Sharpness, Smite, Bane of Arthropods, Knockback, Fire Aspect, Looting, Sweeping Edge, Impaling
- Trident: Sharpness, Smite, Bane of Arthropods, Knockback, Fire Aspect, Looting, Sweeping Edge, Quick Charge, Piercing
- Bow: Piercing, Multishot, Quick Charge, Looting
- Crossbow: Flame, Punch, Power, Infinity, Looting
- Horse Armor: Protection, Blast Protection, Fire Protection, Projectile Protection, Feather Falling, Respiration, Thorns, Depth Strider, Frost Walker, Curse of Binding, Soul Speed, Curse of Vanishing
- Shield: Thorns, Knockback
Improved Enchantment Compatibility
Some enchantments are no longer mutually exclusive. Now you can combine mending and infinity, piercing and multishot. Also, specialized damage and protection enchantments (such as smite and blast protection) are compatible with the corresponding base enchantments (sharpness and protection).
Enchantment Improvements
Infinity no longer requires any arrows in the inventory. Projectiles no longer provide temporary invulnerability, making multishot much more useful. Any level of feather falling prevents trampling of farmland. And finally, looting enchantments now increase not only item drops but also experience gain.

Q: How do I configure this mod on Forge? A: Install the Config Menus for Forge mod and configure settings directly in the game!
Q: How do I configure this mod on Fabric?
A: In-game configuration has not yet been implemented. Instead, in a world, execute the command /config showfile <modid>, choosing either CLIENT or SERVER (depending on the mod), then click on the file name (with .toml extension) that appears in chat to edit the configuration file in a separate editor. After saving the file, the configuration will automatically reload in the game after a few seconds, no game restart required.
Q: Aren't all these new enchantment combinations too powerful? A: That depends on your opinion. Some new combinations are extremely useful and definitely should be in the base game (for example, crossbows with infinity and tridents with looting), but yes, some others might be a bit excessive. However, this doesn't have to be the case, since you can disable all enchantments individually in the configuration. By default, the configuration includes everything to demonstrate all guaranteed compatible enchantments - feel free to remove any you consider too powerful.
Q: I can no longer enchant some items added by other mods when Universal Enchants is installed! How can I fix this? (Forge only)
A: Enchanting some modded items (for example, the skillet from Farmer's Delight) is broken by the internal changes that Universal Enchants makes to enchantments. To fix this, you need to do two things: after installing the mod with the problematic item, delete the universalenchants configuration folder (located in .minecraft/config) to let it regenerate. It will now automatically have additional entries for those problematic items. Then in the server configuration, enable the allow_mod_item_support option.
