Useful Hats

Adds various headwear with useful functions to Minecraft. The mod is compatible with Forge, NeoForge, Fabric, and Quilt. All hats can be dyed and customized to your preferences.

Dependencies

The Fabric/Quilt version requires the following mods:

• Fabric API
• Cloth Config API

The Mining Hat uses the lighting effect from the Lucent mod if it is installed (starting from version 1.19.2-3.0.2.0).

All headwear can be placed in the head/hat slots of the Trinkets mod (from version 5.1.1.0). The head slot is added by this mod by default but can be modified or removed using datapacks.

The hats are also compatible with the head slots of the Curios mod (from version 1.7.0). The Curios head slot is not added automatically but can be added via the curiosAddHeadSlot configuration (from version 1.8.4), by other mods, or manually.

Previously, Baubles Reborn mod was supported (from version 1.8.3), but support was discontinued starting from version 1.19-3.0.0.0.

Headwear Features

Aquanaut Helmet

Grants the Conduit Power effect for 1 minute but limits visibility. With the Respiration enchantment, the duration increases to 4 minutes.

Bunny Ears

Increases jump height and speeds up eating. With the Efficiency enchantment, eating speed can be increased up to 7 times.

Chopping Hat

Accelerates tree chopping with an axe by 20%. With the Efficiency enchantment, the acceleration can reach 150% and stacks with other enchantments and potions.

Ender Helmet

Allows teleportation using an Ender Pearl to a defined position. Interdimensional travel is possible.

Halo

Protects against attacks from regular monsters, except bosses. This protection does not work in the Nether!

Lucky Hat

Grants the Luck effect when holding an axe, sword, or fishing rod.

Mining Hat

Speeds up resource mining with a pickaxe by 20%. With the Efficiency enchantment, the acceleration can reach 150% and stacks with other effects. In dark areas while holding a pickaxe, it grants the Night Vision effect. If the Lucent mod is installed, the Night Vision effect is replaced by Lucent's lighting.

Mushroom Hat

Automatically restores hunger when the player is hungry.

Postman Hat

While sprinting, grants the Speed effect but also causes the Hunger effect. With the Efficiency enchantment, the Speed level can reach VI.

Shulker Helmet

Grants the Levitation effect. With the Efficiency enchantment, the Levitation level can reach VI.

Straw Hat

Speeds up work with hoes (from MC version 1.16) and shovels by 20%. With the Efficiency enchantment, the acceleration can reach 150% and stacks with other effects.

Stocking Cap

A stylish cap with a Christmas design that becomes particularly relevant in December. Can be dyed.

Wing Helmet

While falling, grants the Slow Falling effect. Sometimes the helmet may get scared of monsters and fly away.

Can I use this mod in my modpack?

Yes, you are free to include this mod in your modpacks.

Support for other Minecraft versions? Which versions are supported?

The author does not plan to port the mod to older versions. A list of supported and planned versions can be found at: cech12's Minecraft mod versions

Is there a Fabric version?

Yes, starting from version 1.20.4, Fabric and Quilt are officially supported. Porting Fabric support to earlier Minecraft versions is not planned.

Where is the configuration file?

Starting from mod version 2.0.0.0, the configuration file is located in the defaultconfig folder. Changes in this file only affect new save games. For existing save games, you need to edit the file in the serverconfig folder of the respective save.

How can I disable individual hats?

Starting from version 2.0.0.0, to disable individual hats, you need to use custom datapacks or the CraftTweaker mod to disable the corresponding crafting recipes.
