Important Information
The mod is in alpha testing phase. Various errors and crashes may occur during usage.
Default configuration aims for realism while providing flexible parameters for customizing gameplay according to personal preferences.
Functional Blocks
Helm Block - features 720-degree rotational freedom. While on a Valkyrien Skies ship, simply right-click to control, adjusting the rudder angle as desired. This activates a hidden rudder and enables ship navigation.
Sail Blocks - when placed in single-layer groups on a ship, begin generating thrust depending on wind orientation. Sail behavior changes with parallel or perpendicular alignment relative to the hull. Right-click to stow or deploy sails, with all connected elements working in sync.
Ballast Blocks - heavy components for ship stabilization and weight distribution. Placed in the lower part of the vessel to compensate for mast and superstructure weight, as well as for precise balance adjustments.
Buoyancy Blocks - function as sealed air chambers providing additional buoyancy similar to Eureka floats. Perfect solution when the ship remains too heavy.
Magic Ballast - special block for fine balance correction when standard methods prove insufficient. Generates stabilizing force, though excessive use may reduce steering responsiveness.
Rigging Elements - decorative fences that can also be used for climbing to mast tops.
Redstone Helm - modified version of standard helm generating redstone signal on both sides depending on wheel rotation degree.
Ropes - used in crafting and as placeable objects. Right-click activation toggles connected sail states.
Game Mechanics
Wind System - wind blows throughout the world, regularly changing direction and intensity. Particles appear on ships with sails visualizing these parameters. Wind strength significantly increases during rain and peaks in stormy weather.
Ship Assembly - thanks to VLib integration, breaking a dedication bottle against an independent structure automatically assembles it into a complete vessel. Changing the bottle name makes the ship identifier match the assigned title.
Known Issues
- Helm rotates camera when mounting/dismounting
- Stowed sails display incorrectly on shaped constructions
- Sail count updates only after folding/unfurling
- Eureka ballast and floats incompatible with mod's buoyancy blocks (Eureka bug)
- Rigging climbable only with ship aligned to grid (VS bug)
- Fluid drag rotates small ships to grid alignment (VS bug)
Future Plans
Sail Adjustment - implementation of angular sail adjustment system using bearings similar to Clockwork's Physics Bearing with rope control.
Capstan Mechanism - functionality analogous to Sea of Thieves system, with plans for water current implementation.
Improved Sail Visualization - current sail stowing system appears unnatural for any shapes except squares, requiring graphical display improvements.
Dynamic Hull Waterproofing - implementation of bilge pump block detecting hull integrity and calculating buoyancy accordingly. Possible integration with air pocket visualization addons.
