Vanilla Boom Mod

Vanilla Boom is a modification that significantly enriches the standard Minecraft gameplay by adding content that organically fits into the vanilla style of the game.

Blocks

The mod offers a wide range of new blocks, including various types of bricks made from cobblestone, mossy cobblestone, terracotta, stained terracotta, magma blocks, snow, and obsidian. Polished versions of prismarine, dark prismarine, end stone, netherrack, and peridotite are available. Pillars are also added for granite, diorite, andesite, prismarine, dark prismarine, end stone, obsidian, netherrack, and peridotite.

For convenient resource storage, blocks are added for charcoal, sugar, sugar cane, gunpowder, blaze powder, magma cream, prismarine crystals, and all dyes. Notably, the gunpowder block explodes when lit with a flint and steel or hit by a flaming arrow, while the prismarine crystal block emits a small amount of light.

Nether improvements include: cracked red nether bricks, chiseled red nether bricks, red nether brick fences, and corresponding fence gates. Fence recipes have been adjusted to match vanilla wooden fence recipes.

Soul sand and soul soil can be smelted into soul glass—a more transparent version of regular glass. It can be crafted into soul glass panes or stained soul glass in various colors.

Gold and copper equivalents of iron bars are introduced. Copper bars have several oxidation stages—normal, exposed, weathered, and oxidized—and can be waxed to prevent further oxidation.

A new stone type, peridotite, generates in large veins throughout the world. Two special rock types also appear: hydro rock in oceans and infernal rock in the Nether.

In soul sand valleys of the Nether, bone and wither bone sand can be found. Over 200 different stairs, slabs, and walls are added for existing Minecraft blocks and appropriate Vanilla Boom blocks. Spruce, birch, jungle, acacia, dark oak, mangrove, cherry, crimson, and warped wood types now have their own variations of bookshelves and ladders. Each wood type gets fences and fence gates made from regular and stripped wood.

Items

Wither skeletons have a chance to drop wither bones when killed. These bones can be used to craft wither bone blocks, wither bone meal, or serve as fuel in a furnace for smelting 6 items.

Magma bricks are used to craft magma brick blocks and are obtained by smelting magma blocks.

Polar bears drop polar bear fur, which is used to craft leather, books, and item frames, as well as raw polar bear meat, which can be cooked and eaten.

Pine cones drop when spruce leaves decay at a 2% rate and can be eaten to restore 1½ hunger points. Eggs can now be cooked in a furnace or campfire into fried eggs, restoring 3 hunger points. Chocolate is crafted from milk, sugar, and cocoa beans and has a 50% chance of granting the absorption effect to players for 10 seconds. Three new pie varieties—apple, berry, and monster—are added, along with three cakes: chocolate, berry, and carrot.

Melon popsicles are made from melon, ice, and sticks. The soup assortment now includes meat, potato, and fish soups. Drowned creatures drop drowned flesh, which can be consumed and may inflict hunger and/or grant water breathing for 30 seconds.

Prismarine arrows are ideal for underwater combat: they travel through water as effortlessly as through air. Additionally, they deal extra damage to blazes, striders, and magma cubes.

Mobs

Four new fish species spawn in the world: tuna in oceans, pike and perch in rivers, and eels in swamps. Fish can be obtained as items through fishing, trading with villagers, or by scooping them up with a bucket.

Plants, Flowers, and Farming

Certain crops like tomatoes and chili peppers are two blocks tall and require a trellis for support, placed on farmland. Wither bone meal, crafted from wither bones, can fertilize Nether crops such as Nether Warts. When used on Overworld plants, unique effects occur: vines turn into withered vines (stopping growth), roses become wither roses, and grass and ferns transform into dead bushes.

Seeds for tomatoes and chili peppers can be acquired via wandering trader exchanges or by locating crops in villager settlements. Eating chili peppers deals damage but grants fire resistance for one minute. Rose bushes, peonies, and lilacs can be sheared into smaller flowers and can regenerate with bone meal.

World Generation

Peridotite spawns in significant deposits similar to granite, diorite, and andesite. Hydro rock appears as disks on ocean floors. Bone and wither bone sand form in small patches within soul sand valleys. Infernal rock generates near lava levels in the Nether. Tomatoes, chili peppers, and rice plants now grow in villages, especially in plains, desert, and savanna types.

Redstone Mechanics

A rain detector, comparable to the daylight detector, emits redstone signals at various strengths based on weather conditions: strength 0 during clear skies, strength 1 during rain, and strength 2 during thunderstorms.

Painting System

The painting creation process is streamlined with the introduction of the easel block. Players can select and craft desired painting variants simply instead of repeatedly placing and removing paintings. Each recipe requires one to seven dyes and a canvas, all easily viewable The four Mojang paintings—"Earth," "Wind," "Fire," and "Water"—are obtainable too. Casements now retain the image data, so any broken pictures yield their respective items in full.
