Verdant Growth is an unstoppable plant infection that spreads across the world, consuming forests and dramatically altering landscapes. This ecological threat develops through two main mechanisms: strangler vines envelop and infect trees, while underground roots transform even deepslate into lush greenery.

This relentless expansion brings with it new resources, challenges, and dangers. Survival can be difficult, but the rewards are definitely worth the effort. Players who unleash Verdant Growth must be prepared for the consequences—stopping this phenomenon will be extremely challenging.

Unique Resources and Opportunities

Infected territories offer exclusive materials and ingredients. Trees covered with strangler vines yield large amounts of Strangler Wood, while the rarer Heartwood can be used to create tools, weapons, and armor. Occasionally, players may find Imbued Heartwood—a key component for crafting equipment with rapid self-repair functionality.

Many other plants possess special useful properties: Poison Ivy can be transformed into Poison Arrows, Thorn Bushes serve as material for clever traps, and clinging Strangler Tendrils can be converted into Rope and upgradable throwable Rope Coils. Numerous plants act as ingredients for powerful potions, while agricultural crops like Cassava, Ube, and Coffee introduce unique mechanics with their own risks and benefits.

Activation and Spread

Fortunately, Verdant Growth does not appear in the world naturally. First, players need to locate an Overgrown Pyramid hidden in jungle biomes and deliberately trigger its activation mechanism. After release, all world participants will receive an advancement notification—this marks the beginning of a slow spread that will consume and transform the surrounding environment.
