[DEAD] Voltz Engine
Important Notice: The Voltz Engine mod is no longer supported by developers. The last update was released on July 22, 2018, and since then the project has been considered abandoned.
What is Voltz Engine?
Voltz Engine is a powerful content creation system developed by the BBM team. This toolkit significantly simplifies the process of developing mods for Minecraft by providing ready-made solutions for creating items, blocks, mechanisms, entities, ores, resources, world generation, and command handling.
The main goal of Voltz Engine is to reduce the time required to create and maintain mods. This is achieved by transitioning to a data-driven model that reduces the amount of programming needed.
Key Features
JSON-Oriented Approach
Almost all logic in the engine is based on JSON files. All items, blocks, tiles, and entities are created through a special JSON processing system. This system allows setting both behavior logic and graphical content design through configuration files.
Technical Requirements
The mod requires Java 8 to function. Voltz Engine also uses an additional CodingLib library that is automatically downloaded during installation. If there are problems with downloading, the library can be installed manually.
Compatibility and Usage
Mods Using Voltz Engine
The system is actively used in several popular mods:
- Artillects
- Armory
- Assembly Line
- Basic Industries
- ICBM
- ICBM Classic
Built-in Content
Voltz Engine includes basic content that is activated only upon request from other mods. This prevents resource duplication between different mods. This content can be forcibly enabled or disabled in the configuration.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does VE include world generation? Yes, but it only activates if another mod requests it. World generation can also be managed through settings.
What does VE do with commands? The system has a built-in command and permission system that can be disabled if the server already uses another rights management system.
Is VE related to the Voltz modpack? The mod's name was taken from the modpack, but it is not exclusively designed for it. Originally the project was called Resonant Engine, but after a complete overhaul it was renamed.
Community
Developers are available for communication through Discord and other platforms. Despite the discontinuation of support, the community continues to use and discuss this tool.
Note: The project no longer receives updates but continues to work in existing Minecraft versions.
