Weaker players

Weaker players is a modification that fundamentally changes Minecraft's gameplay, turning it into a true test of endurance for hardened players. The mod imposes increased demands on participants through the implementation of various complexity mechanisms, while offering 41 new achievements for the most daring adventurers to conquer.

Important Notice Development of this version of the modification has ceased. However, the developer has released a sequel titled Weaker players: Remasted, which will be updated soon.

Between Life and Death

The central element of the mod is the ritual chisel, a special tool that allows you to sacrifice yourself for mystical opportunities. Using the chisel, you can voluntarily reduce your maximum health to gain a half heart. These health fragments can be stored for future use, given to other players, or used in crafting special hearts that temporarily increase your maximum health pool. Keep in mind - you cannot have more than 10 hearts at any given time. Additionally, sacrificial hearts can be exchanged for valuable resources.

The magical scythe functions on a similar principle, but with one key difference - it allows you to take half hearts from other players instead of self-sacrifice.

The author recommends experiencing the mod without prior knowledge of the changes for maximum surprise, but here is the complete list of mechanisms that will turn your game into a nightmare:

Universal Changes

  • Heavy rain becomes dangerous - standing in it causes you to take damage (works even in deserts)
  • A fatigue system is implemented - in this state you cannot place or break blocks, nor move
  • Sugar acts as a stimulant - consuming it while fatigued instantly removes the effect
  • World fragility - if you stand on a block without support beneath, it immediately falls
  • Running leads to fatigue (while the running function is practically removed unless you remap the key)
  • Lethal hemorrhage effect - when health drops below one and a half hearts, an explosion occurs
  • Permanent losses - each death takes away half a heart forever
  • Exhaustion lottery - any interaction with blocks has a 50% chance to cause fatigue with loss of movement and interaction abilities
  • Bloody crafting - creating any item at a workbench causes damage
  • Lethal vulnerability - touching fire, cactus, water, snow, or berry bushes results in instant death
  • Unpredictable effects - taking damage may apply a random negative status
  • Avalanche instability - walking on ice causes it to instantly melt beneath you
  • Eternal intoxication - consuming pufferfish gives infinite nausea
  • Useless milk - drinking it leads to immediate death
  • Random weakness - fatigue can occur at any moment without apparent reason
  • Cursed nutrition system - all food either disappears or turns into rotten flesh
  • Inventory decay - all materials decompose to basic components
  • Dangerous baking - when creating a cake, explosive cakes appear around you
  • Scorching liquid - holding a lava bucket causes instant death
  • Phantom totems - any totems disappear when held
  • Portal aggression - placing obsidian summons increasing numbers of hostile creatures
  • Unreliable structures - interacting with a crafting table or bed may cause them to disappear
  • Accelerated wear - any equipped tool or armor constantly loses durability
  • Enhanced enemies - hostile mobs gain increased strength and speed (parameters vary individually) Weapon destruction - elytras in the inventory turn into feathers, while blaze rods turn into powder or disappear entirely
  • Constant hunger - saturation level always remains at zero

Changes in the Overworld

  • Death vegetation - touching plants turns them into withered roses
  • Night raids - increasing numbers of vindicators and pillagers spawn near you every night
  • Unstable portals - using an ender eye in the End portal teleports you to a random location nearby and applies fatigue

Nether Features

  • Entry cost - entering the Nether causes you to lose all items from your inventory (only in version 1.20.1)
  • Return price - leaving the Nether empties your inventory (only in versions 1.19.2 and 1.18.2)
  • Sand traps - stepping on soul sand paralyzes movement
  • Gravitational collapse - all blocks placed by the player constantly fall
  • Infinite respawn - killing any Nether or End mob summons 2 or more creatures of the same type
  • Scorching heat - standing on netherrack causes it to ignite

End Transformations

  • Unpredictable teleportation - using an ender eye in the portal moves you to a random location, applies fatigue, and turns all eyes into shards , - Paralysis artifact - having an ender eye in inventory blocks movement
  • Disappearing structures - any placed blocks disappear after some time
  • Destroying weapons - any tool that hits the Ender Dragon is instantly destroyed
  • Cursed wings - elytras turn into feathers
  • Floating surface - standing on End bricks levitates you upward
  • Ocean in vacuum - the entire End space is flooded with water

These are the main features of the mod, primarily affecting survival and adventure modes.
