Whiff O' Wisp

Rejoice, candle lovers! This modification consists of two main components:

Scented Candles

Scented candles create special effects on living creatures within a small radius when burning. They require nether wax, obtained by smelting nether wart in a furnace.

In version 1.19.2, multiple scented candles placed on the same block merge into one large candle, unlike regular candles.

In version 1.20.1, up to four scented candles can be placed in one block, similar to the vanilla game.

Basic candles:

• Distant Song - teleports creatures a short distance (Ingredients: popped chorus fruit)
• Seafaring Dream - underwater breathing with bubble effects (Ingredients: dried kelp, sea pickle)
• Arts and Crafts - increased digging speed and random sheep recoloring (Ingredients: various dyes)
• Red Redemption - increased resistance (Ingredients: apple, sweet berries)
• Fireside Spat - blindness (Ingredients: charcoal, azure bluet)
• Homesick - regeneration and poison (Ingredients: ghast tear, lily of the valley)
• Caravan Spice - speed II level boost (wandering trader exclusive)

Compatible candles (1.20.1):

• Soft Blanket - weakness (Supplementaries: flax, white tulip)
• Pink Sands - dolphin's grace with underwater bubbles (Spelunkery, Upgrade Aquatic: salt, pink searocket)
• Vanilla Bunny - jump boost II level (Neapolitan: vanilla pods, cornflower)
• Forest Haze - slowness with possible fog if Doom & Gloom is installed (Farmer's Delight: tree bark, moss carpet)
• Autumn Wreath - slow falling (Autumnity: bottle of sap, pumpkin seeds)
• Midsummer Night - invisibility (Environmental: violet, spider's eye)
• Tarnation - fire resistance with green flame (Architect's Palette, Buzzier Bees: nether brass blend, soul candle)
• Daily Special - four random effects changing daily (Caverns and Chasms: spinel, gunpowder)

Wick Trimming

Using shears on a candle allows trimming its wick for clean burning. Trimming removes smoke particles, making candles perfect for refined constructions. Trimming scented candles significantly reduces their effect radius.

The mod supports compatibility with soul candles from Buzzier Bees (or Jaden's Nether Expansion), as well as skull candles and candle holders from Supplementaries/Amendments!

Candle cakes cannot be trimmed - Steve has bad associations with soot on food.

Configuration

Possible configuration changes:

• Effect of scented candles on living creatures (default: enabled)
• Effect change time for "Daily Special" candle, synchronized with day length (default: 24000 ticks)
• Trading "Red Redemption" candles with butchers at expert level (default: enabled)
• [1.20.1] Trading "Soft Blanket" candles with butchers at master level (default: enabled)
• Selling "Caravan Spice" candles by wandering traders (default: enabled)

The mod requires Blueprint and Statement. Some elements are added when additional mods are present.
