Whispers of the Wendigo
This mod requires Geckolib for version 1.19.4.
Shaders are optionally compatible - only with those that allow entity shadows to be disabled. For example, Insanity Shaders do not work!
Recommended shaders: Complementary / Spooklemenary
This mod introduces a terrifying creature called the Wendigo into Minecraft. As soon as you enter a snowy or regular taiga biome, you will be cursed, and the monster will begin stalking you. Before the creature appears, you will hear strange sounds, footsteps, and the sounds of breaking objects around you.
In the taiga, you can find several useful objects to help you survive, such as log cabins! These structures contain wood and other resources to aid the player, and rifles hidden in chests that can be used to fight the monster.
Some cabins have already been destroyed by the Wendigo and contain the horrifying sight of dismembered lumberjacks.
The forest is not empty either: you can find dead bodies of various animals in the snow. Break them and use them for your purposes, as they provide food.
When the Wendigo begins hunting, run and use blocks to increase the distance and shoot with a rifle. This will only stun the creature for about 5 seconds but may save your life.
Do not think you are safe behind a wall or window of your house - the monster can break in. Due to its size and long arms, it tears apart trees and everything in its path, so it never stops or goes around obstacles.
If you are killed and respawn, it is not over yet: the stalking will start again.
With each subsequent attack, the time intervals between them will shorten, but do not relax - this means you will become a target faster.
If you survive - great job!
If you entered a snowy taiga biome but were not affected by the Wendigo's curse (the "Curse of the Snow" potion effect was not applied), re-enter the world or restart the game.
If the Wendigo's animation is not working correctly, disable shaders or try to find an option to disable entity shadows in Minecraft settings / shader settings or configuration.
Re-logging after the "Curse of the Snow" effect is applied will disrupt the timing intervals and cause the stalking sequence to restart from the beginning.
