Wild Wolves
This datapack adds wolf attacks, wolf dens, and special horns that enhance your tamed wolves to Minecraft.
Wolf Attacks
Random wolf attacks occur around the player every few days, with increased probability during a full moon. The start of an attack is signaled by the sound of enraged wolves and red text above the hotbar.
Each attack consists of alpha wolves and pack members. Alpha wolves are stronger than others and drop wolf teeth upon death. All pack members possess special abilities depending on the biome they spawn in.

Wolf Pack Abilities by Biome
- Forests: Packs of 5 wolves, increased knockback
- Sparse Jungles: Packs of 5 wolves, inflict poison and nausea when biting
- Taiga/Plains: Packs of 5 wolves, increased speed
- Old Growth Taiga: Packs of 5 wolves, dash attack
- Snowy Biomes: Packs of 5 wolves, inflict weakness when biting
- Groves: Packs of 3 wolves, inflict strong slowness when biting
- Savannas: Packs of 9 wolves, but with less health and lower damage
- Deserts: Packs of 3 wolves, but with increased health, knockback resistance, and higher damage
- Nether: Packs of 4 wolves, set everything on fire
Wolf Dens
Wolf dens spawn in deserts and old growth taigas and appear as large bones protruding from the ground. Inside, you'll find several wolves, one alpha wolf, and pups, all aggressive toward the player.
The dens also contain suspicious sand or gravel with various items, including special goat horns.

Wolf Goat Horns
When brushing suspicious sand or gravel in wolf dens, there's a chance to find special goat horns, of which there are 9 different types. When used, each horn type activates a specific ability, usually related to your tamed wolves.
The horns have durability depending on their usefulness but can be repaired by throwing them on the ground along with one wolf tooth, obtainable by killing an alpha wolf or finding in suspicious blocks within wolf dens.

Types of Horns and Their Abilities
- Horn of Sitting: Makes all tamed wolves within 16 blocks sit
- Horn of Standing: Makes all tamed wolves within 16 blocks stand up
- Horn of Targeting: Makes all tamed wolves within 16 blocks attack the nearest hostile mob
- Horn of Healing: Fully heals all tamed wolves within 16 blocks
- Horn of Powering: Makes all tamed wolves within 16 blocks stronger and faster for a short time
- Horn of Calling: Teleports all tamed wolves within 64 blocks to the player

Tooth Traps
By throwing a wolf tooth and an iron ingot on the ground, you'll craft three tooth traps. They can be placed, and any mob (including the player) stepping on them will take damage and become stuck. The only way to escape is to break the trap.
After use, a tooth trap closes. To reopen it and make it functional again, the player must press the button at the trap's center.
Throwing a redstone block on these traps upgrades them to an upgraded tooth trap. They function like normal ones but only damage hostile mobs.

Tamed Alpha Wolf
If an alpha wolf is tamed with bones, it provides strength and regeneration effects to all tamed wolves within 16 blocks.

Illager Wolves
All illager captains (pillagers, vindicators, evokers) have a 25% chance to spawn with three leashed aggressive wolves. These wolves attack all players, villagers, and iron golems on sight.

Wolf Den Explorer Map
This map drops from alpha wolves upon death and can be used to easily locate a wolf den.
