Wildlife Expanded: Skunk - Tameable Skunks in Minecraft
Add charming and useful skunks to your Minecraft world that you can tame and make your loyal companions!
Skunk Features
These unique mobs have many interesting characteristics. They don't take damage from sweet berry bushes, breed with carrots, and are tamed with sweet berries. After taming, berries will only heal your pet.
Skunks may panic when attacked and use their famous defensive ability - spraying liquid at the attacker. Baby skunks follow their parents, and tamed individuals accompany the owner at a distance of up to 20 blocks. Their eyes glow in the dark, making them easily noticeable at night.
Interaction with Player
One of the most interesting features is the ability to place a skunk on your shoulder. While on the shoulder, it scares away most mobs except undead and other player's tamed creatures. It also automatically attacks those who attack its owner.
The skunk will get off your shoulder if you enter water, die, or press Shift + RMB on the ground. To control the behavior of a tamed skunk, the Skunk Commanding Stick is used, which can be crafted from sweet berries and a stick.
Skunk Varieties
The mod offers 10 different skunk variants:
- Hooded (forest)
- Striped (forest)
- Vanilla (forest)
- Albino (snowy taiga)
- Copper (crafted from 9 copper blocks and 1 heart of the sea, doesn't spray, doesn't panic when attacked)
- Ghost
- End
- Endvoid (The End)
- Nether (Nether)
- Nethersroom (warped and crimson forest)
Special features: if you name a skunk Dreamy, it gets a special skin. Copper and endvoid skunks can attack and wield tiered weapons including swords. Armor is also available for all skunks: leather, iron, golden, and diamond.
Nether skunks spray fire, and nethersroom skunks spray poison. For tamed skunks, you can disable the spraying ability using shears.
Behavior Modes
Using the Commanding Stick, you can configure the behavior of a tamed skunk:
- Follow mode - skunk follows the owner
- Wander mode - skunk moves freely
- Rest mode - skunk sits in place
